Shirley A. Books, born on July 24, 1937, in Jonestown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her residence on November 23, 2025. She was a beloved member of her community and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Shirley dedicated a significant part of her career to serving others, working in the laundry department of the Veterans Affairs Hospital. Her commitment to her job reflected her compassionate nature and her desire to support those who had served our country.

She leaves behind her husband, George F. Books, Jr., a steadfast partner who shared many cherished moments with her throughout their lives together. Their enduring love was an inspiration to all who knew them. Additionally, Shirley is survived by her daughter, Penny, who was a source of immense pride and joy in her life.
