Roger W. Uittenbogaard

The Rev. Roger W. Uittenbogaard, 81, passed away surrounded by family on September 5, 2026, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Roger was born on October 23, 1944, in Hospers, Iowa, to John and Lois Uittenbogaard. He was raised on his family's farm and pursued his religious calling by earning his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, devoting 57 years of his life in stewardship to the Presbyterian Church (USA). He served as a pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill, NJ for 21 years as well as ministering to

congregations in Forest, VA and Duncannon, PA. Throughout his years of service, Roger found great meaning in his calling and in the opportunity to serve, support, and walk alongside others through all seasons of life.

Roger was an avid reader and enjoyed the music of his era, trains and model railroading, watching and sharing his love of baseball, and traveling over the years with family.

Those who knew Roger will remember him not only for his years of ministry, but also for the love and devotion he showed to his family and the many lives he touched throughout his life.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Rev. Suzanne Spragg Uittenbogaard and children; Linda Spragg DeLiberty; Andrew and Marcy Spragg; Charlene Spragg, wife of Peter Spragg (Deceased); grandchildren, Gabriel DeLiberty and Matthew Spragg; brother-in-law, Kerry Tutt and nephew Jeffrey Tutt.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lois Uittenbogaard and sister Elaine Tutt.

A service celebrating the life of The Rev. Roger Uittenbogaard will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 499 E Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Visitation from 10 – 11am. Memorial service at 11am. Family and friends are welcome to attend a luncheon in the church fellowship hall after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in The Rev. Roger Uittenbogaard's memory to the ministry of Duncannon Presbyterian Church, 3 N. High St, Duncannon, PA 17020, where he and Suzanne pastored together for 11 years.
