Jason D. Hangey, born October 21, 1981, in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 2, 2026. He was a devoted father, brother, son, friend and neighbor known for his compassion, dedication, and the deep love he held for his family and friends. He will also be remembered dearly for his love of his animals, for being a proud wrestler and coach, and a beloved war veteran.
Jason proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 2001 to 2006 as a SeaBee. During his time in the service, he attained the rank of BU3 (Builder Third Class), exemplifying commitment and discipline that marked much of his life. His military service was a fundamental part of his character, reflecting a selfless dedication to protecting others and serving with honor.
Born to Floyd J. Hangey, Jr. and Sandra L. Hangey (Moyer) in Sellersville, Jason’s journey carried him through various chapters of life, all influenced by his steadfast principles and loyal heart. He was a man who met challenges with quiet courage and sought to uplift those around him.
He leaves behind a loving family that was central to his life’s story. Among those who cherish his memory are his sons, Jacob D. Hangey and Dylan A. Hangey, to whom he was a devoted and guiding presence. Jason’s brothers, Byron M. Hangey and Floyd J. Hangey, III, along with his sister, Tammy L. Schlicter, will carry forward the bond they shared with him. Additionally, the mother to their sons, Megan M. Varady-Chec, his stepmother, Velden P. Hangey, his sister-in-law, Tera L. Hangey, and stepsister, Colleen H. Matz - remain a part of his beloved family circle.
